In February 1953, China Monthly Review exposed an extensive U.S. mail censorship program. Ironically, few in the U.S. heard about it, as copies of CMR were seized & destroyed by the U.S. Post Office!
The history can certainly feel disheartening. It's been a continually surprising journey into our modern heart of darkness. I still hold out some hope that exposing the truth is somehow a way out of this. Maybe I'm deluded, but I feel it's better knowing than living in the ruling class's imposed state of ignorance.
